Ingredients for this recipe
- Frozen French Fries: You can use any brand of regular cut frozen french fries that can be found in the grocery store freezer aisle. If you cook a different variations of frozen french fries such as shoe string fries, steak fries, waffle fries or curly fries, you may need to adjust your cooking time based into he thickness of the fries.
- Cooking Spray: Cooking spray is optional. However, cooking spray helps sticking if you are cooking a larger batch.
- Salt: Optional. See recipe notes for optional seasoning ideas. You can also sprinkle with some Rosemary Salt to make things exciting!
How to cook frozen french fries in an air fryer
- Preheat air fryer to 400°
- Optional: Lightly spray frozen french fries with cooking spray and sprinkle with salt or other seasonings of choice. Cooking spray and salt/seasonings are optional. However, cooking spray helps the fries from sticking to each other if you are cooking a larger batch.
- Place french fries in fryer basket. Do not overfill basket.
- Cook for approximately 10 minutes.
- Mix your french fries and cook for an additional 5-8 minutes.
- Depending on your air fryer, the size of your fryer basket and amount of french fries in the basket, you can shake the basket and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until you reach your desired level of crispness as needed.

FAQ and expert tips
You can season frozen fries with salt and your favorite additional seasoning a such as garlic powder, onion powder, creole seasoning or Italian seasoning.
You can make frozen fries taste better by cooking then in the air fryer to a super crispy texture. Adding your favorite seasonings or dipping sauce makes then even more delicious.
You should preheat your air fryer for even and consistent cooking. However, some recipes may not require that you preheat the air fryer.
