Snickerdoodles without Cream of Tartar

This snickerdoodle cookie recipe is made with easy pantry ingredients! Super soft, chewy and packed with cinnamon flavor. The perfect cookie recipe to make with kids! 👉

Ingredients

– All-purpose flour  – Ground cinnamon – Unsalted butter – Granulated sugar – Large egg – Vanilla extract *all ingredients below

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line large cookie baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Mix cinnamon and sugar topping in small bowl. Set aside.

Step 3

In a large bowl beat together butter, sugar, egg, vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract and lemon juice.

Step 4

In second bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Mix thoroughly.

Step 5

Add dry ingredients to wet and combine using beater. The dough will look like crumbly little balls.

Step 6

Using your hands, mold the dough into one large ball of snickerdoodle cookie dough.

Step 7

Using cookie scoop or your hands, form 12 evenly sized cookie balls.

Step 8

Roll each cookie ball in your cinnamon sugar mixture. Place evenly spaced on your baking sheet.

Step 9

Bake for 12-3 minutes. Allow to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet and then transfer to a cooling rack.
