Zhoug (Cilantro Jalapeno Sauce)

Ingredients

  • 2-3 jalapenos (rough chop or slice)
  • 1 bunch cilantro (cut off large stems)
  • 3 large cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • cup extra virgin olive oil (or other neutral oil of choice)
  • 3 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional)
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cardamon (optional)·     

Instructions

  • In food processor, combine all ingredients (except oil and lemon juice). Chop thoroughly.
  • Add lemon juice and olive oil. Combine thoroughly.
  • Add additional salt to taste or olive oil if desired.
