  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup all purpose white flour use spoon method, see notes
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ cup chocolate chips or chocolate chunks

Instructions

Brownie Blondies Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven 350°F
  • Line 8 inch (8x8) baking pan with parchment paper. See notes for tips on helping parchment paper to stay flat.

Blondie Batter

  • In a large bowl, with hand mixer, combine melted butter, brown sugar, white sugar, eggs and vanilla. Beat until fully combined.
  • Add flour to bowl of ingredients. On lowest speed, mix in flour until fully combined.
  • Hand mix in white chocolate chips.
  • Set bowl aside and prepare brownie mix in separate bowl.

Brownie Batter

  • In a large bowl, with hand mixer, combine melted butter, white sugar, eggs and vanilla. Beat until fully combined.
  • Add flour and cocoa powder. On lowest speed, mix in flour and cocoa powder until fully combined. You will likely need to scrape the sides with a spatula to combine any cocoa and flour on the sides of the bowl.
  • Hand mix in chocolate chips or chocolate chunks.

Mixing and Cooking Brownie Blondies

  • Using cookie scoop or tablespoon, alternate spooning in scoops of blondie batter and brownie batter in an alternating pattern into the baking pan.
  • You want a contrast between the location of the different colored batters. The batter is thick so they will hold their shape somewhat.
  • Once all your batter is in the pan, using a spoon, lightly flatten out your brownie blondies so that the surface is level.
  • Cook on 350°F for approximately 40-45 minutes or until full cooked. Remove from oven and allow to fully cool in baking pan.
  • Remove brownie blondies from baking pan, slice and enjoy!

Notes

Tip to Measure Flour: When you measure your flour, do not scoop it out directly as that can lead to using more flour than is needed. To correctly measure your flour, give the flour a stir with a fork or a whisk to loosen it. Spoon the flour into cup until it is heaping, then level with the flat side of a knife.
Parchment Paper: Rub a little bit of oil on the bottom of your baking pan and place parchment paper on top. This will help the parchment paper to stick flat. Use can also use clips to hold sides of parchment paper until you pour batter in to weight down.
Slicing Tips: Once brownie blondies have cooled to room temperature, remove from pan (leave on parchment paper) and wrap them tightly. Place them in the refrigerator or freezer to get cold. This will allow for a cleaner slice.
