This Hokkaido milk tea is quick, easy and delicious. Hokkaido black milk tea is quickly growing in popularity and is extra fun with the additional of tapioca boba pearls. Black tea, brown sugar syrup and powder or fresh Hokkaido milk make this drink a star!
1tablespoonbrown sugar syrup (add more if desired)Equal parts brown sugar and water to make syrup.
Instructions
Hot Brewed Tea
Prepare black tea.
Add Hokkaido milk and warm.
Add brown sugar syrup. See preparation instructions below.
Add boba pearls if desired. See preparation instructions below.
Cold Brewed Tea
Prepare black tea. Allow to cool fully.
Add cold Hokkaido milk.
Add brown sugar syrup (fully cooled). See preparation instructions below.
Add boba pearls if desired. See preparation instructions below.
Brown Sugar Syrup
Prepare brown sugar syrup before making boba pearls.
In a saucepan, combine equal parts water and brown sugar and cook on medium/high heat until the sugar is fully dissolved and you have a syrup consistency.
Once prepared, mix then with brown sugar syrup so they do not stick to each other.
How to Serve
Place boba pearls in glass with sugar syrup.
Add ice if desired.
Add black tea and Hokkaido milk. Stir and enjoy.

Notes: If you cannot locate fresh Hokkaido milk at your local grocery store or Asian specialty store, you can use Hokkaido Milk Powder (start with about 1 tablespoon for this recipe and add additional to your taste).
