Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar (light or dark brown)
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  • In saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar and water.
  • Stir until dissolved (2-3 minutes) and remove from heat.
  • Cool before using or storing.

Notes

Storage: Allow to fully cool. Store in airtight bottle or jar in refrigerator.
Flavored Syrup Variations: You can add various additional flavors to the syrup such spices (cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg or vanilla), herbs (rosemary, basil or mint), floral (jasmine or lavender) or citrus (lime, lemon, orange).
Excellent in a variety of cocktails such as a Manhattan, mojito or old fashioned.
