Have you ever wondered what cardamom tastes like? You are in for a real treat! You may have heard of the popular Starbucks cardamom latte which is seasonally available. If you know anything about Starbucks, they bring the good stuff! Cardamom is an delicious and unique spice that brings a floral and peppery flavor. Why this recipe works

    • Cardamom spice will bring your latte to a whole new level!
    • This cardamom latte drink is very flexible. Choose your favorite sweetener and milk of choice. Make it a vegan latte or keto latte by mixing and matching. My favorite sweetener is Demerara Syrup which adds a rich caramel flavor.
    • You can modify this recipe to make the Starbucks Cardamom Latte by adding some vanilla extract for an extra layer of flavor.

    Ingredients to make this recipe

    • Espresso: I recommend ground espresso to make this cardamom latte recipe. If you don’t have ground espresso, you can use instant espresso or coffee for this recipe. When I am not at Starbucks (just can’t kick it!), I love Café Bustelo Espresso Dark Roast and Café La Llave Espresso.
    • Sweetener of Choice: Honey, maple syrup, agave, brown sugar, white sugar, monk fruit or other sweetener of choice.
    • Milk of Choice: Whole milk or 2% milk work best for frothing. You can also use half and half or fat free but forth consistency will vary. For a dairy free or vegan latte, you can use a non-dairy milk such as soy milk, almond milk, coconut milk or oat milk.
    • Ground Cardamom: I love McCormick ground cardamom. It has very potent and fresh flavor.

    How to make this recipe

    1. Add honey (or sweetener of choice) and cardamom to your cup or mug.
    2.  Prepare espresso and add to cup. Stir to combine espresso, honey and cardamom.
    3. Froth your milk of choice.
    4. Add milk to espresso mixture. Enjoy your cardamom latte!

Tips to make a latte if you don’t have a milk frother

If you don’t have an espresso machine with a milk frother, you can still make your latte milk. Heat your milk in the microwave for 30-40 seconds. Use a small whisk to whisk your milk for about 30 seconds until frothy. Add milk to your cardamom and espresso.
