    Sourdough banana pancakes are the the ultimate breakfast favorite! The fluffy goodness of traditional pancakes with the tangy depth of sourdough and comforting flavor of banana you cannot go wrong.

    Get your fluffy pancake on! Cooked to golden perfection on a hot griddle, sourdough banana pancakes emerge light, fluffy and irresistible.

    Pop off with a dollop of whipped cream, drizzle of syrup or chopped nuts, these pancakes are a delicious celebration of breakfast indulgence. From a lazy morning, girls day brunch or Mother’s Day celebration, these pancakes are tried and true.

    Ingredients

    • Flour
    • Baking Powder
    • Sugar
    • Salt
    • Eggs
    • Sourdough Discard Starter 
    • Butter
    • Banana

    How to make Sourdough Banana Pancakes

    1. In separate bowls, mix wet ingredients (milk, eggs, sourdough starter, melted butter, mashed banana) and dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, sugar and salt). Combine wet and dry ingredients and thoroughly mix.
    2. Over medium-high heat, grease pan and ladle approximately ¼ – ½ cup batter into pan.
    3. Cook for approximately 1-3 minutes each side, until golden brown outside.

    Sourdough pancake modifications and substitutions

    Non-Dairy Milk Options: Soy milk, coconut milk, pea milk or oat milk.

    Flax Egg: To make a flax egg, mix one tablespoon of flaxseed meal with three tablespoons of water. Allow to sit refrigerated for about 10 minutes to thicken.

    Vegan and Dairy Free Pancakes: Instructions as stated.

    Vegan Protein Pancakes: Substitute 2 scoops of vegan protein powder for equal parts flour.
