    Why This Recipe Works

    • If you are anything like me, you like to try cool new food and seasonings. This seasoning is bomb!
    • It takes less than 5 minutes of prep time and it’s in the oven.
    • This baked salmon recipe is healthy and nutritious, packed with Omega-3’s and all the good stuff!
    • Nori Komi Furikake provides a crunch and flavor unlike anything you have every tried and you are going to love the adventure!
    • You might also love a side of Japanese soy sauce for dipping.

    What is furikake?

Also known as, Nori Komi Furikake (pronounced Fy-r-ih-kah-kay) is a popular Japanese multi-purpose seasoning. It is a blend of dried nori seaweed, black & white sesame seeds, salt, and kelp powder. It is a combination of crunchy, salty, ocean crunch.

    How to use furikake seasoning?

Furikake is an excellent seasoning to bring crunch and extra depth of flavor to many dishes. If you are a seafood lover, you will love this seasoning as the nori seaweed (bonito flakes) and toasted sesame seeds impart a delicious seafood flavor. Some of my favorite dishes to top with this Japanese seasoning are:

    • Fish: This is one of my favorites for bowls of rice. You can add some of this rice seasoning and it takes it to a whole new level.
    • Popcorn
    • Chicken
    • Veggies
    • Rice or noodles
    • Eggs

Where to buy this delicious Japanese seasoning?

This seasoning is quickly growing in popularity and I have spotted it on many local grocery stores and asian specialty stores. However, many brands contain MSG. Thus, my favorite brand is from the fabulous Trader Joe’s which sells a version that is MSG free! You can also find on Amazon. This brand on Amazon is MSG free (be sure to always check current labeling).
