    Why This Recipe Works

    • If you don’t have tequila – have no fear! You can use vodka!!!!
    • It is a super easy, yummy cocktail – great for a party.
    • You can easily modify depending on what you have handy!

Can you use vodka instead of tequila in margaritas?

Absolutely! You are not using tequila so it will not be exactly the same. However, it will still be delicious and pretty darn close!

What if I don’t have triple sec?

No problem! Essentially, triple sec is a sweet component with orange flavor (plus alcohol). If you don’t have any on-hand, you can add more sweet component (see simple syrup below) and some orange juice or fresh squeezed OJ.

What if I don’t have Rose’s Lime Juice?

I am a huge fan of Rose’s Lime Juice. It is super yummy and I use it in so many cocktails because it is super versatile. However, if you don’t have it or can’t get it – NO PROBLEM! Same as above. It is a sweet component plus LIME. Compensate with more sweet and lime flavor (fresh squeezed lime juice or frozen limeade).

    How to make simple syrup?

You can buy at most stores in the liquor section or on Amazon here. But it is EASY to make!

Combine equal parts water and sugar in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring, until sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool. BOOM!

    How to make this recipe

    INGREDIENTS

    • 3 oz vodka
    • ¼ lime – fresh squeezed lime juice
    • 1 oz Rose’s Lime Juice
    • ½ oz Triple Sec

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Combine in shaker.
    2. Pour over ice
    3. Salt rim optional.
    4. Fun – NOT optional.

Out of this world! I do not like tequila, so always feel left out of the Cinco de Mayo parties when everyone is sipping margaritas. Finally I have found the perfect margarita…I love, I love, I love!!! Now, I can’t wait until May 5th.
