Hibachi Fried Rice Ingredients
- Oil: Vegetable oil, canola oil, crapeseed oil or any high heat oil.
- Protein of Choice (Optional): Chicken, steak, shrimp or tofu are popular choices.
- Onion: Sweet or yellow onion.
- Carrots: Bagged shredded carrots are easiest. You can also use frozen carrots.
- Peas: Frozen peas.
- Rice: Cooked white (jasmine rice, short or long grain) or brown rice.
- Eggs: Organic or regular.
- Sesame Oil
- Soy Sauce: Regular or low-sodium soy sauce.
- Fermented Black Bean Sauce: Optional but recommended. If you enjoy spicy, this sauce is highly recommended and packed full of flavor. I believe this is the key ingredient to make your Blackstone fried rice taste like a delicious restaurant version.
- Chili oil or Chili Crunch: Optional.
How to make fried rice on Blackstone
- Gather your Blackstone accessories and preheat the Blackstone griddle to medium heat.
- Add vegetable oil to griddle and spread to coat grill.
- For all of your ingredients, mix them every minute or so through the cooking process.
- Add protein first (chicken, steak or shrimp), cook for 2-4 minutes.
- To a separate portion of the Blackstone griddle, add onions and shredded carrots, cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add frozen peas to onions and carrots and mix. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add cooked rice to separate portion of the grill and make an opening for the eggs. Add eggs to opening. Mix eggs and rice and cook until eggs are fully cooked.
- Cut a piece of your protein to make sure fully cooked and then mix all ingredients on Blackstone griddle until thoroughly combined.
- Add soy sauce and sesame oil and mix hibachi fried rice on Blackstone.
- If you enjoy spicy, add fermented black bean sauce (highly recommend!) and chili oil or chili crunch and mix thoroughly. Transfer to serving dish and enjoy!
- Serve Blackstone griddle fried rice with a side of Chili Crisp, Hibachi Ginger Sauce or Hibachi Mustard Sauce.

- 2 pounds chicken breast (cubed), steak (cubed) or shrimp
- 1 large onion (diced)
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 4 cups cooked rice (white or brown rice)
- 5 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- ¼ cup soy sauce (low sodium or regular)
- 2 tablespoons Optional: fermented black bean sauce highly recommended for flavor and spice
- 1 tablespoon Optional: chili oil or chili crunch
