    Ingredients for this recipe

    • Roasted Pumpkin Seeds: I like to use roasted, salted pumpkin seeds. However, if you would like to use raw, you can pop them in the oven for a few minutes to roast them before blending. You can purchase pumpkin seeds online or at your local grocery store or Trader Joe’s.
    • Oil: I recommend using a neutral oil such as canola or vegetable. You can omit the oil from this recipe but blending will take longer. I recommend only omitting if you have a very powerful blender.

    How to make this recipe

pumpkin seed butter process shots 1 through 4
    1. Combine roasted pumpkin seeds and oil in food processor or blender.
    2. Blend in intervals so machine does not overheat and seeds don’t get too hot (check every 1-3 minutes depending on your blender).
    3. This process will take anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes depending on the power of your machine.
    4. You will first notice the seeds are chopping up. They will then become more crumbly. They will then turn into a clumpy mixture (wetter). They will then become smooth and creamy. The longer your blend, the smoother the consistency will be.
    5. Transfer to air-tight container or glass jar. Store nut butter in refrigerator.
