    • Vodka: Can also use cherry vodka to make a cherry vodka sour.
    • Lemon Juice: Fresh squeezed is recommended but can use store bought if unavailable.
    • Lime Juice: Fresh squeezed is recommended but can use store bought if unavailable.
    • Simple Syrup: You can use pre-made simple syrup or alternatives such as brown sugar syrup, demerara syrup, honey, maple syrup or agave syrup.
    • Bitters: You can use a few dashes of Angostura or aromatic bitters which adds a depth of flavor.
    • Nutmeg: Optional
    • Garnish: Orange or lemon slice and cherry (maraschino, Luxardo or amarena). You can also make homemade bourbon cherries!

    Vodka Sour Cocktail Instructions

    1. Fill a cocktail shaker or mason jar with ice. Pour in vodka, lemon juice, lime juice, simple syrup (maple syrup or honey), bitters and nutmeg (optional). Close lid and shake well.
    2. Fill rocks glass or glass of choice with fresh ice. Strain into the glass.
    3. Garnish with orange slice or lemon slice and cherry.

    Simple Syrup Alternatives: You can make your own simple syrup by combining equal parts sugar and water. You can also make brown sugar syrup or demerara syrup. Honey, maple syrup or agave syrup also work well.
