- Homemade sweet cream requires only three easy ingredients that you can keep on hand!
Ingredients
- Heavy Cream: Heavy cream or heavy whipping cream.
- Milk: You can use fat free, 1% 2%, whole or any alternative milk (almond milk, oat milk, cashew milk, pea milk, macadamia nut milk, etc.). Instead of a combination of heavy cream and a second milk, you can also use half and half.
- Vanilla Syrup: You can also use Demerara Syrup with a splash of vanilla extract.
- Cinnamon: Optional, you can sprinkle with cinnamon.
- Cold Brew Coffee: You can use a cold brew concentrate and mix with water or you can make coffee and refrigerate until cold.
How to make sweet cream cold foam
- Combine whipping cream, milk and vanilla syrup.
- Use handheld milk frother (or whisk) until fluffy and thick.
- Fill glass with ice and cold brew coffee.
- Top with cold foam and sprinkle with cinnamon (optional).
- Thickness: If you prefer a “foamier” lighter cold foam, you can alter ratio of heavy cream to milk. Increase the amount of regular milk and decrease heavy cream accordingly. If you prefer a more creamy think cold foam, omit the milk and just use heavy cream.
Substitutions for vanilla syrup
If you don’t have vanilla syrup, you can use a combination of sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract or vanilla extract combined with honey, maple syrup or agave.
How to make cold foam without heavy cream
You can make cold foam without heavy cream by substituting an alternative milk. The key to good cold foam is using a good frother and beating air into the milk so it is light and foamy like a cloud.
