Sweet Cream Pancakes
- Flour: All purpose white flour.
- Sugar: White or brown sugar.
- Baking Powder
- Salt
- Heavy Cream: Heavy cream or heavy whipping cream. Can also use half and half for slightly lighter option.
- Milk: 2%, 1%, fat free, whole or milk alternative such as almond milk, oat milk, pea milk, cashew milk or macadamia nut milk.
- Eggs
- Vanilla Extract: Vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste.
- Oil or Butter: Oil, butter or alternative butter.
Optional Pancake Toppings
- Maple or Pancake Syrup
- Fruit: Raspberries, strawberries, blackberries or blueberries.
- Cinnamon or Pumpkin Spice
- Whipped Cream
How to make sweet cream pancakes
- In large mixing bowls, mix wet ingredients and mix dry ingredients. Combine wet and dry ingredients and thoroughly mix.
- Heat your pan, griddle or skillet to medium high heat. Grease your pan with oil, butter or non-stick cooking spray.
- Pour pancake batter mixture into pan (approx. ¼ cup per pancake).
- Cook until golden brown, flipping each pancake halfway.
- Top with your favorite pancake toppings such as an additional sprinkle of fresh berries, peanut butter, cinnamon and/or real maple syrup/pancake syrup and whipped cream.
Tips to make the best pancakes
- Make sure your baking powder is fresh. If you want to see those fluffy pancakes, you don’t want to use old ingredients.
- Use a whisk to mix your batter. This will help avoid unwanted lumps.
- Don’t over mix your batter! This will help keep pancakes fluffy.
- Don’t crowd the skillet when cooking the pancakes. You want them to get a nice golden brown and don’t want them oozing into each other.
- Wipe the pan between batches and re-butter your pan. This will help get the perfect golden brown and no burned flavor.
