Spicy Salmon
- Salmon: You can use any salmon of your choice. If you are making a spicy salmon poke bowl, you need to use sushi grade salmon.
- Garlic: Use freshly minced or pressed garlic.
- Soy Sauce: I recommend low sodium soy sauce for this recipe.
- Brown Sugar: Light or brown sugar.
- Sriracha: You can purchase sriracha online or in the Asian section of your local grocery store.
- Hot Chili Oil: You can use chili oil or chili crisp.
- Ginger (Optional): Fresh minced or pressed ginger.
Spicy Salmon Bowl
- Rice: You can use white or brown rice. You can also use quinoa, couscous, barley or cauliflower rice.
- Carrot: Shredded
- Avocado: Thinly sliced.
- Bell Pepper: Red, orange or yellow.
- Cucumber: English or Persian cucumbers.
- Edamame: Shelled. Available in frozen section of grocery store.
- Red Onion: You can also use sweet onion.
- Jalapeno: Thinly sliced.
- Optional: White or black sesame seeds and/or furikake seasoning optional

How to Make Spicy Salmon and Spicy Salmon Marinade
- Preheat oven or air fryer to 400° F.
- Cut salmon into ½ inch uniform cubes. Be sure to remove any pin bones from the salmon and remove the blood line (dark brown strip on salmon).
- Prepare spicy salmon marinade by mixing garlic, ginger (optional), soy sauce, brown sugar, sriracha and hot chili oil.
- Mix salmon and spicy salmon marinade in small bowl. Optionally, you can marinate for 5-10 minutes for increased flavor.
- Spread salmon evenly in one layer on oven baking sheet or in air fryer basket.
- Cook in oven or air fryer on 400° F for 5-6 minutes or until salmon is fully cooked. Note: Air fryer tends to cook slightly faster than oven.
Spicy Salmon Bowl
- Place cooked white or brown rice in bowl.
- In bowl, arrange vegetables of choice such as carrot, avocado, bell pepper, cucumber, edamame, red onion and/or jalapeno.
- Top with spicy salmon.
- Drizzle with dressing of choice as desired.

You have probably heard of the Tik Tok salmon bowl that is all the rage right now. Personally, I’m not sure it will go out of style because it is so good!
The Tik Tok salmon bowl has a number of different popular varieties including a spicy salmon topping (cooked) and a salmon poke topping (raw).
Spicy salmon poke bowl
If you wish to make a spicy salmon poke bowl, you must use sushi grade salmon. Simply prepare the recipe as indicated but do not cook the salmon. The marinade is the same.
If you love salmon sushi, some other delicious alternatives include Salmon Tataki and Salmon Sashimi.

I just want to thank you for this recipe. I’ve made it 8 or 10 times in the last 6 weeks. I’ve switched to only cauliflower rice, stevia in place of brown sugar, and go between salmon and shrimp. It’s so delicious and healthy.
